Douglas Tynan, CFA
Doug Tynan is a co-founder and the Chief Investment Officer at GCQ Funds Management.
Previously, Doug was a co-founder at VGI Partners (a global equities manager that grew from a small base to manage over A$3 billion across wholesale funds, individually managed accounts and two ASX-listed investment companies), where he commenced working as a research analyst in 2008 and was appointed Head of Research shortly thereafter. Doug stayed on in this role until June 2020, and continued to serve as a non-executive director until September 2021.
At VGI Partners, Doug was involved in all portfolio decisions and managed a team of up to 15 analysts located in Sydney, New York and Tokyo.
Doug started his career as a chartered accountant in Brisbane.
Doug graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Economics with Majors in Finance and Accounting. He is also a CFA charterholder.
